Friends of the School

We believe that one of the great strengths of our School is our recognition of parents as the prime caregivers for children. The role of our School is to uphold, support, and do all we can to contribute to families by fulfilling our responsibility to do our very best to educate each child to the extent of our professional skill and excellence. We believe that parents have honoured us by entrusting their children to us.  It is a responsibility we all feel very keenly, but for the Lord's sake, we are also delighted to undertake.

Because we are focused upon families, and ourselves as their servants, it is natural that the School is surrounded by a wider community linked together by our common interest in the School. We call this community the Friends of Manukau Christian School, which we have shortened to FrieMCS. Membership in this wider community is informal, but consists of graduate families, founding members, all staff and former staff and their families, current families, and enthusiastic supporters of the School. This wider community is one of the strengths of our School.

FrieMCS has set up a blogsite which can be visited by clicking on
www.FrieMCS.blogspot.com. This blog is the central forum for FrieMCS members to get to know each other and keep up with what is happening in our School community.

We suggest that you add this to your internet favourites on your browser. This blogsite is updated frequently, and is a mine of information on school life and the interaction of the wider school community. Anyone in the FrieMCS community can post on the site—just e-mail your comments or notice or request to jtertullian@gmail.com. Read a good book lately? Found a recipe that worked really well? Need a recipe that uses a particular ingredient? What happened when you took that long-awaited overseas trip? Need more work? Want to promote your business or its services to the wider school community? Ideas and suggestions for making School life even better?

Posts such as these and many more are part of what contribute to our School community being strong and vibrant. So, visit our blog often, tell your friends about it and e-mail your posts to jtertullian@gmail.com. It's fun seeing yourself published on the web. Who knows, you may help make Manukau Christian School world-famous one day! In the meantime, keep up with what is happening in our school community.

Also, please leave comments or messages on posts which appear on the site. All this serves to strengthen and deepen our school community.

From time to time FrieMCS will undertake a major project to provide some focused help to the School. The blog site will increasingly become the main organisational tool we use to communicate with the FrieMCS community and get us focused to deliver the “goods” as it were. Our major project thus far has been getting the Endowment Trust established and underway. This is a project we are very, very excited about—and over time will help all our school families—for generations to come. Learn about the Endowment Trust by clicking the link.
